Richard Moran joins Venrock02/03/2007. Source: AltAssets. 
US venture capital firm Venrock has appointed Richard A Moran as partner. Moran will focus on identifying new ventures and advising Venrock's portfolio of internet-based technology investments. Moran previously worked at Accenture. He has consulted and worked with News Corp, Hewlett Packard, Apple Computer, Atari and Electronic Arts. His work also draws from the public sector, where he has applied his organisational expertise as chairman of the board for Golden Gate University, San Francisco; San Francisco Museum and Historical Society; and Project Open Hand, San Francisco.
Ray Rothrock, managing partner, Venrock, said, 'Rich has the right mix of investment experience, intellect, foresight and capabilities to assist entrepreneurs build companies that make a positive and lasting impact on society which ultimately shapes the future.'
Venrock, originally established as the venture capital arm of the Rockefeller family, has offices in Menlo Park; New York; Cambridge, Massachusetts; and in Israel. The firm focuses primarily on the IT, healthcare, and energy sectors.
