Blackstone hires Ravi Ramanan05/03/2007. Source: AltAssets. 
Ravi Ramanan has joined Blackstone's private equity group as executive director. Ramanan will work with the firm's portfolio companies to enhance value. Previously he was senior vice-president, functional excellence, at Solectron Corporation. Prior to that, he held several staff and management positions at General Electric. Ramanan is a certified Black Belt and Master Black Belt in Six Sigma.

Blackstone has raised approximately $70bn for alternative asset investing since its formation in 1985, of which over $30bn has been for private equity investing. The Group's other core businesses include private real estate investing, corporate debt investing, hedge funds, mutual fund management, private placement, marketable alternative asset management, and investment banking advisory services.
Recently Blackstone agreed to acquire Pinnacle Foods Group, a manufacturer, marketer and distributor of branded food products in the US and Canada, for approximately $2.16bn in cash.
