Energy private equity veteran John Moon goes to Riverstone Holdings08/03/2007. Source: AltAssets. 
 John J Moon has joined energy investment firm Riverstone Holdings as a managing director. Moon will be engaged in all investment activities and will serve on the investment committees of Riverstone's current funds.
Riverstone currently invests in energy private equity from its $3.8bn Global Energy and Power Fund III, and in renewable energy from its $685m Renewable Energy Infrastructure Fund I.
Moon joins Riverstone from private equity firm Metalmark Capital, where he served as a managing director involved principally with the energy investment activities.
David M Leuschen, co-founder of Riverstone, said, 'In John, we have found both an experienced private equity investor who knows the energy industry and a person of integrity whom I have known for many years.'
Riverstone conducts buy-out and growth capital investments in the midstream, upstream, power, oilfield service, and renewable energy sectors of the energy industry. To date, the firm has committed $5.4bn to 34 investments across these five sectors.
