Kaupthing raises £500m for first third-party private equity fund21/03/2007. Source: AltAssets. 
 Iceland's Kaupthing Bank is raising its first third-party private equity fund, Kaupthing Capital Partners II.
The bank is committing £200m to the fund and has raised an additional £300m from third-party investors, primarily pension funds, investment companies and high-net-worth individuals.
Kaupthing initially intended to raise between £100m and £200m from third-party investors, the firm said in a statement. Kaupthing plans to close the fund in the next few weeks.
Kaupthing Bank offers commercial and investment banking services to individuals, companies and institutional investors. The bank's key markets are its home market Iceland, Denmark and the UK.
