Raytheon Company, a supplier specialising in defence, homeland security and other government markets, has completed the sale of Raytheon Aircraft Company to Hawker Beechcraft, a new company formed by GS Capital Partners and Onex Partners for approximately $3.3bn in cash. The transaction includes Raytheon Aircraft facilities and other assets in Kansas, Arkansas and Texas, and its Fixed Based Operations network across the US, the UK and Mexico.
The company expects to use part of the after tax sale proceeds for the early retirement of approximately $1bn of debt and for the company's stock repurchase programme. Raytheon Company appointed Michael J Wood to the position of vice president and chief accounting officer in October 2006.
Carlyle and Cerberus Capital Management reportedly also took part in the bidding process, according to PE Week Wire.
