Genstar appoints Anthony Salewski as senior associate03/04/2007. Source: AltAssets. 
San Francisco-based mid-market private equity firm Genstar Capital has appointed Anthony J Salewski as a senior associate. Salewski previously worked as a principal at Alpine Investors in San Francisco. Prior to joining Alpine Investors, he was the chief of staff for operations at Barclays Global Investors. From 2000 to 2002 Salewski was an associate at Hellman & Friedman. He began his career in the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley.
Salewski joins Michael S Langdon, also a senior associate, who joined Genstar in 2006.
With more than $900m of committed capital under management Genstar focuses on investments in the industrial technology, life sciences, healthcare services, and business services sectors.
Genstar recently also appointed Edmund M Carpenter. As an operating partner he will help identify investment opportunities and enhance the operations of Genstar's businesses in the industrial technology sector.
The firm also just announced that it has completed the acquisition of International Aluminum Corporation, a manufacturer of residential and commercial aluminum building materials, in a transaction valued at $228m.
