Inveni Capital holds first closing on Inveni Life Sciences Fund I

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityNew Finnish-German venture capital firm Inveni Capital has held a first closing on its Inveni Life Sciences Fund I. The fund has raised over €20m to date. It is expected to close on between €50 and €70m.

Investors in the fund include Finnish Industry Investment as the biggest single investor in the fund, and The University of Helsinki.

Inveni Life Sciences Fund I will invest in early to growth stage life science companies. Its focus is on medical technology and pharmaceutical companies in Northern and Central Europe, with special emphasis on Finland and Germany.

The initial management team consists of Aki Prihti and Markku Fagerlund at the Helsinki office, and Dr Wolfgang Pieken in Munich. Advisors to the fund include Prof Dr Markku Jalkanen of Faron Pharmaceuticals, Turku, Finland, and Dr Christina Wagner of Ventac Partners, Munich, Germany.
