NBGI Private Equity hires Joseph Bergin15/06/2007. Source: AltAssets. 
NBGI Private Equity has appointed Joseph Bergin as director, based in Manchester. Bergin will be involved in all aspects of the firm's investment activities, including deal origination, execution, portfolio management and exit, with a focus on the North of England. He joined NBGI Private Equity from Octopus Asset Management, where he was director for their VCT funds. Previously he spent nine years at 3i.
Richard Morley, director of NBGI Private Equity, said, 'We are delighted to welcome Joseph to our team to assist in the continuing growth and development of NBGI Private Equity. Recently NBGI has made a number of successful investments and exits and we are looking forward to building on this success in our second fund. Joseph's appointment will further boost our presence in the North of England, a region we believe has lots of growth opportunities.'
NBGIPE focuses on investments in 'traditional economy' businesses in the UK and Ireland. The firm typically provides equity funding of £2m to £15m, principally for buy-outs.
