US mid-market private equity firm Norwest Equity Partners has hired Dan W Gladney as an operating partner focused on healthcare investment opportunities. Gladney is expected to help the firm evaluate and execute new investment opportunities and add-on acquisitions within the healthcare products, services and distribution industry sectors. He will also be active in strategic planning, business growth and corporate governance for NEP portfolio companies. In addition to his role as an operating partner at NEP, Gladney is currently a co-founder and part-time CEO of Heartleaflet Technologies (HLT), a high tech cardiovascular device start-up developing a percutaneous aortic heart valve system.
Prior to HLT, Gladney served as chairman, CEO and president of Compex Technologies, a public company in the orthopaedic and health and wellness electro therapy industry, which was acquired by Encore Medical Corporation.
NEP managing general partner John Lindahl said, 'Dan will provide us with a competitive advantage within the healthcare sector. His key relationships that he has built over the years will give us an edge when it comes to seeking new investment opportunities and developing strategic initiatives for our portfolio companies.'
NEP, founded in 1961, has approximately $3bn in capital under management.
