Ventures West appoints biotech expert Dan Giampuzzi as entrepreneur-in-residence15/08/2007. Source: AltAssets. 
 Canadian seed and early stage technology venture capital firm Ventures West has appointed Dan Giampuzzi as an entrepreneur-in-residence. In his new role Giampuzzi will help identify investment opportunities and provide strategic advice and analysis to portfolio companies in the life sciences sector.
Giampuzzi most recently served as president and CEO of Montreal/Philadelphia-based private biotechnology company Gemin X Biotechnologies. Previous to Gemin X he worked in senior management roles at organisations including MDS Capital Corp., Searle Canada and Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals.
Recent Ventures West investments have included Alder Biopharmaceuticals, Aquinox Pharmaceuticals, Celator Pharmaceuticals, Macrogenics, NeurAxon, Novadaq Technologies, OncoGenex Technologies and Resonant Medical.
Since 1968 Ventures West has formed eight venture capital funds which total over $700m.
