NVP hires Joshua Goldman as venture partner

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityPalo Alto, California-based technology venture capital firm Norwest Venture Partners has hired Joshua Goldman as venture partner. Goldman joins two recent additions to NVP, Sergio Monsalve, a former venture partner of marketing at Photobucket and eBay GM, and Tim Chang, a former principal at Gabriel Venture Partners and executive at Gateway, as part of a dedicated team focused on seed, early and mid stage investments in the internet services, consumer technology and media sectors.

Prior to joining NVP, Goldman served as CEO of Akimbo Systems, a company which delivers video-on-demand content to large service operators and set-top makers including AT&T.

Previously, Goldman was an entrepreneur-in-residence at Sprout Group, a venture capital affiliate of Credit Suisse. He was also president and CEO of mySimon, a pioneer in online comparison shopping services, and president of CNET Networks' consumer division.

Earlier in his career Goldman held management roles at USWeb/CKS, Softbank Content Services, Phoenix Technologies and Apple Computer.

Promod Haque, managing partner, NVP, said, 'Josh has extensive entrepreneurial experience and a proven track record in running and growing companies at multiple stages of their growth, which will help drive and nurture NVP's investments in the consumer internet sector.

NVP manages approximately $2.5bn in venture capital. The firm's recent investments and transactions have included Airespace (acquired by Cisco Systems), deCarta, mBlox, Resonext Communications (acquired by RF Micro Devices), Spinnaker Networks (acquired by Network Appliance), TURN, and Winphoria Networks (acquired by Motorola).
