Split Rock Partners, a US early stage venture capital firm that invests in healthcare, software and internet services in the Upper Midwest and West Coast, has appointed Jagi Gill as entrepreneur-in-residence. He will focus on new medical device opportunities. Gill is currently chairman of PhysioStream, a developer of medical diagnostic technology. Prior to PhysioStream, Gill was CEO of Sage Medical, an early stage medical technology company.
Gill also held executive positions in business development and marketing at Boston Scientific within their cardiovascular and neuromodulation business units. While at Boston Scientific, he was involved in the acquisition and corporate investment of over $1bn in medical technology companies. Before joining Boston Scientific, Gill was a staff member in the Department of Neurology at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.
Split Rock was formed in June 2004 by the healthcare and software investment teams of St. Paul Venture Capital and is based at offices in Minneapolis and Menlo Park. The firm's portfolio of healthcare investments includes Spine-Tech, The Foundry, Santarus, DexCom, Emphasys Medical, Xtent, Atritech and Disc Dynamics.
