Boston Ventures to acquire US telecoms firm SJI

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityBoston Ventures, a private equity firm focused on the media and communications industries, has agreed to acquire Larose, Louisiana-headquartered telecommunications and broadband services provider SJI for an undisclosed sum. Boston Ventures will acquire the company from the Pat Brady family.

SJI will be the fifth investment from the firm's latest private equity fund, Boston Ventures Limited Partnership VII.

SJI provides communication services to residential and commercial customers, including local and long-distance telephone service, internet access and digital video.

Boston Ventures will appoint communications expert Rich Gerstemeier as CEO of SJI, the firm said in a statement.

Boston Ventures targets investments in the media, information and publishing, entertainment, and communications industries.
