Actis invests in information management solutions provider in Pakistan17/10/2007. Source: AltAssets. 
Emerging markets private equity investor Actis has acquired a 49 per cent interest in Pakistan's LMKR Holdings for an undisclosed amount. LMKR is a provider of information management solutions to petroleum engineering services companies. Actis made the investment from its $150m South Asia Fund 2.
LMKR employs 650 professionals, including 280 geologists and geophysicists.
Shabbir Hashmi, investment principal, Actis, said, 'We have been impressed by the management team at LMKR and look forward to working with them to grow the business. LMKR has established an excellent reputation for both service delivery and quality and we believe that LMKR is well positioned to take advantage of the current industry trends and become a significant global player in oil and gas and IT enabled services.'
Actis has $3.5bn of funds under management with significant investments in Africa, China, South and South East Asia. In South Asia, Actis has two funds: the $150m South Asia Fund 2 and the $325m Actis India Fund 2.
