Draper Fisher Jurvetson closes DFJ Growth Fund on $290m

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityUS technology-focused venture capital firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson has closed its DFJ Growth Fund on approximately $290m. The fund had an original target of $250m.

The DFJ Growth Fund focuses on investments in growth stage high technology companies that are already generating revenues.

The DFJ Growth Fund has invested in five companies to date: Visto, a provider of enterprise mobile e-mail applications; Raydiance, a creator of a desktop ultra-short pulse laser; UUSEE, a Chinese provider of IPTV networks; Kajeet, a mobile phone service for tweenagers; and Solar City, a Californian provider of residential solar energy solutions.

DFJ manages approximately $5.7bn in capital commitments.

The firm has backed companies such as Hotmail (acquired by MSFT), Skype (acquired by EBAY), Baidu (BIDU), Focus Media (FMCN), Overture (acquired by YHOO), EnerNOC (ENOC) and Athena Health (ATHN).
