Temasek reportedly invests $1bn in China-focused private equity fund05/12/2007. Source: AltAssets. 
 Temasek Holdings, an investment company headquartered in Singapore, is putting $1bn into a new China-focused private equity fund, according to various reports.
The new fund, established by Goldman Sachs Group's China partner Fang Fenglei, is expected to raise $2bn in total. Its focus will be on acquiring stakes in government-owned companies across China.
Fenglei will continue in his role at Goldman Sachs.
Temasek is a Singapore sovereign wealth fund with an investment portfolio worth more than $100bn. Its investment activities focus primarily on Asia.
