CMEA appoints Bruce Pasternack as venture partner07/12/2007. Source: AltAssets. 
US venture capital firm CMEA Ventures has appointed former Booz Allen Hamilton senior vice president Bruce Pasternack as a venture partner. Pasternack will join the firm's Energy & Materials investment practice. For nearly 30 years, he was a senior vice president at Booz Allen Hamilton. He served as managing partner of both the firm's energy, chemicals and pharmaceuticals worldwide business and its organisation and strategic leadership practice.
He has also been a managing partner for the firm's Northern California offices and was on Booz Allen's board of directors. Most recently, he served as president and CEO of Special Olympics.
In government, Pasternack was the senior energy policy official in the Executive Branch while at the Federal Energy Administration, and was principal staff to the White House Energy Resources Council. He was also on the staff at the President's Council on Environmental Quality in the Executive Office of the President.
Pasternack has been serving on the board of directors of CMEA portfolio companies Codexis, a private biotechnology company, and Symyx Technologies.
Founded in 1989, CMEA is based in Menlo Park and San Francisco. The firm invests in both early and late stage science-focused ventures.
