Mid-market buy-out firm Metalmark Capital has agreed to become an investment centre within CAI Alternative Investments. Following the transaction, the firm's senior investment team will remain in place.
'Metalmark believes that alignment with Citi will provide it with all of the benefits of being part of a larger institution, while allowing the Metalmark team to maintain the operational control, discipline and autonomous decision-making that exists today,' the firm said in a statement.
The Metalmark team, previously known as Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, span out of Morgan Stanley in 2004.
