Kohlberg & Company has closed its sixth private equity fund, Kohlberg Investors VI, on $1.5bn, well above its initial $1bn target. Commitments came from approximately 65 existing and new investors.
Kohlberg makes control investments in mid-market companies through divisional buy-outs, public company buy-outs and acquisitions of privately held companies. The firm typically invests in companies with revenues between $100m and $500m and seeks to provide up to $150m of equity capital in a transaction.
Kohlberg has offices in Mt. Kisco, New York and Palo Alto, California.
