Wind Point Partners has exited its investment in baked goods supplier Nonni's Food Company. The US mid-market private equity firm has sold the business to Greek food production company Vivartia for $320m. Nonni's is a manufacturer and marketer of baked goods including biscotti, bagel chips, pita chips and panetini, sold primarily under the Nonni's, New York Style and Old London brand names. Wind Point acquired the company in 2004, in partnership with company CEO Tim Harris.
Mark Burgett, a Wind Point managing director, said, 'Nonni's has been a successful investment for Wind Point and is an excellent example of our strategy of partnering with a top calibre CEO to acquire an under-managed middle-market company and execute a clear path to value creation.'
Harris added, 'During our four years of ownership, we grew sales from approximately $90m when we acquired the business to approximately $200m today by significantly broadening our product portfolio, diversifying our customer base and completing two strategic acquisitions.'
Wind Point portfolio companies in the consumer sector include US restaurant chain VICORP Restaurants.
