Darby Overseas Investments, the private equity arm of investment management firm Franklin Templeton Investments, has appointed Sean Glodek as senior vice president in the firm's Warsaw office. In his new role, Glodek will source and execute new investments from the €248m Darby Converging Europe Mezzanine Fund. Glodek joins Darby from Lehman Brothers where he was a vice president in the firm's global M&A group. Previously, he held positions at Deutsche Bank Securities, Barclays Capital, Ameriquest Capital, Clayton Dubilier & Rice and Goldman Sachs.
Robert D Graffam, Darby's senior managing director - Europe, said, 'Sean's broad experience in corporate finance as well as principal investing will be very valuable to the Darby Europe team as we accelerate the pace of investment by DCEMF, particularly in Poland where we have recently made two investments.'
To date, DCEMF has invested €109.5m in nine companies. Recent deals in Poland have included a €16.4m investment in vegetable oil producer Zaklady Tluszczowe Bodaczow and a €7.5m investment in railroad operator CTL Logistics.
Darby closed its DCEMF fund in summer of last year.
