HRJ Capital has closed its latest fund of funds, HRJ Special Opportunities Fund I, on $195m. A 'significant portion' of the investor base is located outside the US, including Germany, the UK and France, according to a statement. The fund is already fully committed, with a portfolio of US and international private equity funds focused on distressed debt, restructuring, turnarounds and special situations, the firm said.
Duran Curis, managing director, HRJ, said, 'We have built a global portfolio with commitments to managers that specialise in distressed/turnaround situations. We believe that they are now investing capital in a very attractive investment environment.'
HRJ is an alternative investment firm with $2.3bn in assets under management. The firm specialises in alternative fund of funds investment opportunities across venture capital, buy-out, real estate and hedge funds.
Earlier this year, the firm closed its fifth venture capital fund of funds, HRJ Capital VC V, on $273m.
