CEE and Turkey-focused private equity firm Bancroft Private Equity has confirmed that it is raising its third fund, Bancroft 3. The fund has a target of €250m and is expected to hold a first closing shortly. Bancroft plans to use its new fund to make investments across the CEE region, including the Baltics and Southeastern Europe, and Turkey.
The firm has also announced that it is beefing up its investment team with the appointment of Agis Hiliarhopoulos, who will focus on expanding the firm's activities in Southeastern Europe. Hiliarhopoulos is the head of the firm's new Athens office.
Prior to Bancroft, Hiliarhopoulos was a director with Global Finance, a private equity firm focused on Southeastern Europe. Before joining Global Finance in 2000, Hiliarhopoulos was a manager with Greek consulting firm Kantor Management Consultants.
In addition to Athens, Bancroft has offices in Budapest, Prague, Istanbul and London. The firm closed its previous fund, Bancroft II, on €104.75m
