Venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates has appointed Tony Florence and Paul Walker as partners. Florence will focus on growth stage IT investing activities, while Walker will concentrate on later stage biotechnology and life sciences investments. Walker is based in Menlo Park and Florence works from the firm's office in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
Florence joins NEA from Morgan Stanley, where he was a managing director. He was at Morgan Stanley for more than 15 years.
Walker previously worked as a general partner with MPM Capital's MPM BioEquities Fund. Prior to that, he was a portfolio manager at Franklin Templeton Investments.

With approximately $8.5bn in committed capital, NEA focuses on investments at all stages of a company's development, from seed stage to IPO.
