Paris-based private equity firm Activa Capital has agreed to take a 37 per cent stake in French sports retailer Sport 2000. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Sport 2000 operates 530 stores across France. The company's worldwide turnover is €2.3bn in 13 countries, according to a statement.
Activa has €500m under management. The investment in Sport 2000 is the first from the firm's Activa Capital II fund, which closed in 2007 on €320m.
In March 2008, Activa announced the sale of road transport company Malherbe.
