Sterling Stamos hires Robert Goodman to head private equity activities

Sterling Stamos Capital Management has appointed former vice chairman of Deutsche Asset Management Robert Goodman as global head of private equity and real assets.

In his new role, he will be responsible for the management, fundraising, operating, and investment activities for the firm's private equity and real assets platform.

Peter Stamos, chairman and CEO of Sterling Stamos, said, 'I have known Robert Goodman for over two decades, going back to our days together at McKinsey. He brings a tremendous level of credibility to our private equity and real assets platform and is someone for whom I have the highest professional respect and personal regard.'

Previously, Goodman was vice chairman and member of the global operating committee of Deutsche Asset Management. Prior to that, he was global head of insurance investment banking at N. M. Rothschild & Sons. Before that, he held a similar position at Lazard Freres. He was also executive director of financial institutions investment banking at Goldman Sachs, and previously was a principal and co-head of the European insurance group at McKinsey & Company.

Sterling Stamos invests across asset classes including fixed income, equity, absolute return, real assets and private equity. The firm has over $6bn in assets under management.
