Ted Schlein of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers elected new NVCA chairman 19/04/2007. Blackstone to open private equity office in Hong Kong 11/01/2007. Blackstone intends to open a private equity office in Hong Kong to expand its investment activities in the Asia Pacific region. At the same time Blackstone has also announced that Antony Leung has joined the firm as a senior managing director and chairman of Blackstone Greater China. Leung will co-head the expanded Hong Kong office along with Ben Jenkins, a senior managing director, who will be relocating with a team from New York.

Access Capital opens German office, hires two new partners 13/12/2006. Paris-based private equity fund of funds manager Access Capital Partners has opened a new office in Munich, Germany. The office will be headed by Bernhard Fink and Thomas Kohlmeyer, who are both joining Access as partners. Prior to Access, Fink and Kohlmeyer co-founded Stratin Capital Advisors, a German alternative investment advisor. 
3i hires IT and communications expert Jonas Risberg for investments in Nordic region 12/12/2006. 3i has appointed Jonas Risberg as partner to its venture capital business. Former Intel Capital executive Varun Kapur joins TPG Ventures 08/12/2006.
