Our client has enjoyed great successes over the past few years, building a very strong reputation for itself throughout the UK mid market. It’s now looking to build on that success with the hire of a new analyst. As an analyst you’ll support the senior investment team throughout the transaction process in all elements of the origination, analysis and execution of new investments. You’ll need to have relevant work experience from strategy consulting (strategy or due diligence projects), accounting (ideally transaction services or lead advisory) or possibly investment banking (M&A, leverage finance, ECM) or an M&A focused legal background. You might bring a further qualification such as an ACA. The key for our client is to identify the right talent and potential to develop over the medium and long term. As a result it is important that you can present yourself well and have something a little extra, be it an outside interest which you’re passionate about or an unusual talent / success of which you’re proud. In summary, you’ll need to show:
- Good academic background
- A demonstrable commitment to Edinburgh in the medium to long term is crucial
- Either: strategy consulting or accounting (TS or lead advisory) experience. ACA a bonus.
- Or: investment banking (M&A, leverage finance, ECM) or M&A focused legal experience will also be considered
- Very good presentational skills
- Ability to build relationships with a wide variety of people
- Something a little extra – outside activities, passions, successes of which you’re proud
