International venture capital: The role of start-up financing in the United States, Europe and AsiaThe United States continues to set the standard for venture business as US start-ups enjoy ready access to institutional financing, flexible labour markets, large amounts of intellectual capital and favourable regulation. European and Asian governments must remove any regulatory impediments to entrepreneurs if venture capital activity is to be fostered on a par with the United States.
