New York-headquartered energy technology venture capital firm Braemar Energy Ventures has appointed Dennis Costello as a managing director. The former chief investment officer for North America of Advent International will head up Braemar Energy's new Boston office.
The hiring reunites Costello with Braemar co-founder and managing director George Reichenbach. While partners at Advent, the two venture capitalists invested together over a ten-year period.
Costello began his career as a member of the original staff of the Solar Energy Research Institute, now the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. He also served as the director of the Future Systems Group at the Martin Marietta Corporation where he developed strategies to commercialise new technologies, and he was the first executive director of the Colorado Advanced Technology Institute.
Braemar makes early to mid-stage investments in the energy technology sector.
