Early stage technology venture capital firm Benchmark Capital has appointed Mike Cassidy as an entrepreneur-in-residence.
In his new role, Cassidy will assess new business opportunities in the consumer internet market and assist Benchmark companies across the portfolio.
Prior to joining Benchmark, Cassidy was CEO of internet gaming company Xfire, which was sold to Viacom in 2006.
Benchmark was founded in 1995. The firm manages approximately $2.4bn in committed venture capital. A few days ago the firm announced that its London-based Benchmark Capital Europe team had spun out of the US-based firm to form Balderton Capital.
