Austria-based technology venture capital firm Gamma Capital Partners has hired cleantech expert and entrepreneur Jürgen Wahl. Jürgen Wahl is currently the CEO of Wahl & Partner, a start-up consultancy.
Right from the start, Wahl focused his career on social responsibility issued. He worked on a forestry development project in Bhutan (Asia) and for an international fast food chain to co-develop a waste collection and recycling system.
In 1996, Wahl joined the Department for Environmental Politics at the Federation of the Austrian Industry, to work on waste management and energy efficiency issues. In 2002, he moved to Verbundplan, an Austrian engineering and consulting firm, as head of international project development and financing.
Between 2001 and 2006, he also served as a board member at Austrian Power Clearing and Settlement. Wahl has also supported the development of OeMAG, the Austrian clearing agency for renewable power, as a board member.
Since 2006, he has been a member of the executive board of EXAA, the Austrian Energy Exchange.
GCP, founded in 2002, has offices in Vienna, Lindenberg and Bratislava. The firm focuses on investments across German-speaking Europe and the CEE region.
GCP manages close to €80m.
