Financial services sector expert Mark Graf joins Aquiline Capital

Graf joins Aquiline from Barrett Ellman Stoddard Capital Partners, where he was a partner specialising in the financial services sector.

Previously, he worked as the CFO of Cincinnati-based Fifth Third Bank. Graf was a member of the company's executive committee and responsible for M&A activity, strategic planning, balance sheet management/funding and financial reporting.

He also held various executive positions at Amsouth Bancorporation (now Regions Financial), M&T Bank and Morgan Guaranty.

Jeff Greenberg, chief executive of Aquiline, said, 'Mark brings operating and investment expertise in the areas of banking, specialty finance and transaction processing.'

Aquiline focuses on the global financial services sector, especially property and casualty insurance, specialty finance, securities, asset management, life insurance and transaction processing. The firm closed its maiden fund, Aquiline Financial Services Fund, on $1.1bn in 2007.
