Canadian private equity firm Crown Capital Partners Inc. has closed a CAN$250m fund, Crown Capital Financing, to make alternative debt and equity investments in domestic mid-market companies.

CCF's primary focus will be alternative debt structures, including bridge financing and subordinated loans ranging from CAN$5m to CAN$50m. CCF will also seek to acquire distressed loans and control position equity investments in select situations.

Chris Johnson, managing partner and CIO of Crown Capital, said, 'We are pleased at the completion of our fundraising process during a turbulent time throughout the world's financial markets. This new capital pool provides us with a high level of flexibility which will be a significant asset as global leverage continues to unwind and capital markets transition to new sources of capital.'

Crown Capital has offices in Regina, Saskatchewan and Toronto, Ontario.
