Björk is following in Bono's footsteps by entering the world of investment in private companies. Together with Icelandic venture capital firm Audur Capital, Björk is raising capital for the venture capital fund with her name: BJÖRK.

The GP commitment is ISK100m (€600,000). The fund is expected to close on at least ten times that amount in March or after. Audur is primarily targeting investors in Iceland but would also welcome LPs from other European countries.

The fund plans to help the Icelandic economy recover by providing capital for early stage businesses. The focus of the fund is on sustainability, be it the environment, the economy or the society. Portfolio companies could operate in sectors and segments such as green technology, tourism, wellbeing, healthcare.

Audur was founded by two Icelandic business women, Halla Tomasdottir and Kristin Petursdottir.
