Mobile advertising network AdMob has raised an additional $12.5m in its Series C funding round, with capital coming from Draper Fisher Jurvetson’s Growth Fund and Northgate Capital. This gives the company a total of $28.2m raised in its Series C funding, which began in October last year.
According to a statement, the capital is being used to accelerate the growth of worldwide operations by hiring local staff in key markets and adding new language interfaces, with an emphasis in Western Europe, India, South Africa, and Japan; deepen the investment in the company’s mobile technology platform, including its targeting, optimisation, and ad serving algorithm; expand the breadth of offerings for both publishers and advertisers; and increase the leadership position in the US by growing AdMob’s sales and business development teams.
Founded in 2006, AdMob is a mobile advertising marketplace, offering solutions for discovery, branding and monetisation on the mobile web.
