Ariadne Capital, a UK-based investment and advisory firm, has launched its debut venture capital fund, Ariadne Capital Entrepreneurs Fund, with a target of £20m (€22.9m). Ten leading entrepreneurs have already backed the fund, according to Ariadne.
The ACE Fund will invest in internet and mobile internet companies at the seed stage, specifically in business applications, media technology, voice applications, consumer and SME financial services and digital entertainment.
ACE will invest the first £250,000 (€286,000) to £1m (€1.14m) into companies where the proposition is a game-changer by virtue of its technology, business model or market vision.
Julie Meyer, founder of Ariadne Capital, will act as the fund’s managing partner.
Meyer said, “Ariadne Capital has developed a model whereby we bring the gutsiest entrepreneurs into our portfolio and advise them effectively on the go to market, the board alignment, corporate structure and high growth management. Out new ACE Fund helps us to take that expertise to the next level.”
