Private equity firm Advent International has bolstered its ability to service investors with the hire of Robert Brown, a former managing director of Carlyle’s North American fundraising and investor relations.
Brown will now serve as a managing director and global head of Advent’s limited partner services.
He has more than 15 years' fundraising and investor relations experience. Prior to Carlyle, he was a vice president in Merrill Lynch’s private equity group, responsible for raising private equity, real estate, hedge fund, co-investment capital and direct private placements for around 100 transactions.
Will Schmidt, a managing partner at Advent in London, said, "Bob brings significant experience to Advent, which will enhance our ability to serve our growing investor base and attract new investors in an increasingly dynamic environment worldwide. His approach toward investor services, emphasising openness and true partnership with limited partners, matches well with Advent's philosophy."
Advent earlier this month announced the opening of an office in the financial hub of New York.
