Bridgescale Partners has added Howard Gwin as venture partner to the firm’s Toronto office. Gwin will originate, source and manage new investment opportunities throughout Canada and the US.
Bridgescale Partners, based in California and Toronto, invests in high growth technology companies, specialising in the IT, media and communication sectors, which require equity to accelerate their growth.
Gwin has served on the board of over 20 different software and services companies over the past nine years and before that served as president of Solect Technology Group, a provider of billing, customer care and service management software for the telecommunications industry.
Robert Chaplinsky, managing director at Bridgescale Partners, said, “Our investment strategy is to share our Silicon Valley network and investment expertise with Canadian and US entrepreneurs, helping them scale their companies and providing them with enormous value. Howard's board leadership expertise, strong Silicon Valley experience and proven management skills make him the right person to help lead Bridgescale's Canadian investment activities.”
Bridgescale is currently invested in several Canadian companies, including Bluecat Networks, provider of IP Address Management platforms, and Cortina, a semiconductor company.
