Pierre S LeComte has joined TSG Consumer Partners as a vice president. Formerly he was with Bain & Company and the Nabisco Biscuit Company. As a manager at Bain, LeComte led strategic diligence teams in the consumer goods sectors, including food, household products and durables, as part of the private equity practice. TSG focuses on middle-market branded consumer companies and has approximately $800m in capital under management.

Ronan Cunningham has joined the National Pensions Reserve Fund of Ireland from Adam Street Partners. He will take on the role of the Fund’s head of private equity. The National Pensions Reserve Fund was established in 2001 to partly pre-fund Ireland’s public pension liabilities. The Fund has decided to commit eight per cent of its assets to a global private equity programme. Currently it is valued at €13.25bn. Based on its estimated value at the end of 2009, its commitment to private equity should amount to up to €3bn.

Suen Yan Leung has joined SCM Strategic Capital Management's due diligence department as a senior analyst. He will be responsible for the due diligence and the negotiation of client investments in private equity and real estate programmes. Leung is also involved in the firm's research efforts and analysis. Prior to joining SCM Leung was senior investment manager with AXA Private Equity, where he was responsible for deal flow, due diligence and monitoring of both primary and secondary investments. SCM said it expanded its team because new client accounts and increasing investment volumes required a new senior industry specialist.

Australian firm Macquarie Funds Management has strengthened its Alternative Investments team with the appointment of Peter Martenson, Eric Becker and Rick Fratus. Together they will form a new team, based in Southern California. They will primarily focus on Macquarie Funds Management's private equity investment opportunities in North America, Europe and Asia. Martenson has been appointed as a division director, while Becker and Fratus have become associate directors. Prior to joining Macquarie Funds Management all three worked together at US private equity manager Pacific Corporate Group. These appointments take the Macquarie Funds Management private equity team to nine professionals, with the current six private equity investment professionals located in Sydney, Australia. Macquarie Funds Management provides fund of funds and tailored separate accounts on a discretionary to semi-discretionary basis.
