This weekly roundup provides an update on deals and fund activity that did not feature as separate stories in AltAssets' daily news service.

DEALS

ABN AMRO Capital, the private equity business of ABN AMRO, has agreed to sell Page Group to Hamilton Sundstrand, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation. Page is a design and manufacturing company of aerospace lighting and cockpit controls to the commercial aircraft industry. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

spodradio, a radio and podcast hub for mobiles, has announced $10m of Series B funding from Benchmark Capital Europe, together with BayTech Venture Capital. BayTech backed spodradio in Series A funding with $2.4m in 2005. The new funds will be used to accelerate spodradio's expansion into international markets and help develop new services.

Clinovia, a UK home healthcare provider backed by Lyceum Capital, has acquired CCS Blackpool, a care agency specialising in providing community support services to individuals in their own homes.

FUNDS

UK government-backed emerging markets fund of funds manager CDC has committed $1.6m to Business Partners International, a venture capital fund focused on investment in small and medium-sized enterprises in Kenya. The BPI Fund is targeting total commitments of $15m. Along with CDC, the European Investment Bank has committed $5m with additional funding from the International Finance Corporation, Kenya's Trans-Century Ltd and the East African Development Bank. The fund will invest in SMEs ranging from single-owner businesses to partnerships and multi-owner ventures. Its target investment range will be between $50,000 and $500,000. In particular, the fund will be seeking investments in sectors including property, tourism and manufacturing.
